We have created
a painting system like no other! Using a basic palette of colors
you can create heirloom artwork at a fraction of the cost of using
lower quality craft paints. Jo Sonja's painting system allow you
to paint on wood, metal, glass, tile, fabric, walls, floors or virtually
any surface using one set of paint. The secret? Jo Sonja's Artist's
Mediums, which allow you to control the paints under a variety of
conditions.
Jo Sonja's
colors are designed to cover in one coat, are lightfast and will
not fade. Each tube of Jo Sonja's Artist's Colors lists the lightfastness
rating and pigment selection used to create each color. This is
your assurance of quality. We use the ASTM lightfastness ratings
in a standardized program of pigment grading.
We've created
a painting system like no other, and we're proud to say that our
system is the finest quality acrylic gouache available for decorative
art, wildfowl and fine art techniques. An acrylic gouache (pronounced
"gwosh") is a French term for opaque watercolors. Acrylics dry to
the touch in 5 minutes, are cured 80% withing 24 hours and are completely
cured in two weeks.
Unlike a "traditional"
gouache, Jo Sonja's acrylic gouache is water resistant and will
not chip or crack when cured. Acrylics paints and mediums have the
added benefit of drying through each other. There is not need for
initial layers to cure completely before additional painting commences,
such as when using oil paints.
These colors
were designed specifically to meet the needs of artists who demand
the finest quality pigments, are concerned about the longevity of
their work and require a painting system with truly unlimited applications.
